THE SCANDINAVIAN GROUP

This page refers to the informal community of Russian software (SW) developers who have common interests in the Scandinavian market. The Scandinavian Group (ScG) is a young structure, nevertheless, during a short period of its functioning the Group has achieved considerable success in both marketing and development areas.

The idea of this sort of partnership came to Ardin Software Oy, a Finnish offshore mediator, when the company team realized that they couldn't satisfy the demand of the local market without attracting new resources. Why did that happen? They are efficient and experienced enough to manage any technological problems. However, an average client doesn't care whether the product he/she needs will be developed using C++ or Assembler, he/she cares for the result.

A variety of business domains - this seems to be the obstacle. Projects concerning such different fields as, i.e., finance, medicine, shipbuilding, etc. require special case studies to make SW-developers familiar with an area which they will implement their skills to. This is called 'domain knowledge', and has an obvious influence on the result.

Luckily, Russian SW vendors have already realized lots of channel-orientated projects, a good amount of those companies are either professionals in their certain areas of expertise or authors of easily implemented solutions. Finally, Ardin's initiative of cooperation was supported by a number offshore developers. This combination of marketing efforts on the one hand and the 'domain knowledge' on the other - lead to the creation of the Scandinavian Group with Ardin Software as the commercial hand.
